Selling Bitcoin anonymously through direct payment

Anonymous, but risky way to sell BTC anonymously - direct payment.

Selling Bitcoin anonymously through direct payment

The question of how to buy and sell Bitcoin anonymously is asked by people who do not want to reveal their personal information when making transactions.

Today, we take a look at the most popular anonymous buy / sell methods so that no one will know that you have a certain amount of coins, or that you have profited from selling a cryptocurrency.

Why is the matter of anonymous buying / selling Bitcoins important?

Why worry about anonymity at all? The blockchain itself is decentralized and aims to ensure that user IDs are not exposed. This is true, although exchanging BTC for fiat currency and vice versa leaves traces by which you can be found.

Today, cryptocurrency users buy / sell Bitcoin in two of the most popular ways:

  • by anonymous cryptocurrency exchange - Exmo, Godex, Binance, BitMEX
  • using online exchange offices - BitCash, MoneyMix, Trust-Changer.

In 2022, your personal data is a valuable asset - both to corporations relying on personalized marketing, and to governments.

By using these services, you "highlight" several of your personal details once:

  • email;
  • Phone number;
  • Card number.

On some exchanges, to connect a card, you need to send a photo of it to the e-mail of the support service. Additionally, in LocalBitcoins resources and in some cases in Exmo, it is required to go through the verification procedure.

Of course, reputable trading platforms and online exchanges should not disclose their members' personal information. However, such services are not fully hacker-proof, and as a result, hackers get the required information about you. Let's not forget about the current trends. This makes it almost impossible to hide the existence of Bitcoins or make money selling them.

Direct BTC buying / selling: anonymous but risky

In this case, we are talking about buying or selling coins really from hand to hand. You do almost the same on these exchanges, but all operations there are monitored by the service administration. In order not to leave any traces of the sale or purchase of coins, you need to work with the other party without intermediaries. How to do it?

The average algorithm of actions when buying / selling Bitcoin anonymously looks like this:

  • place an advertisement that you want to buy or sell Bitcoin. You can simply leave a comment under one of the current posts and wait for someone to reply
  • if someone is interested, contact that person directly (by phone, messaging or by social network message system).
  • negotiate the terms of the transaction: number of coins, purchase / sale rate, payment amount.
  • make transactions remotely or in person.

Because of how risky this situation is (there is no guarantee you will receive your funds from a stranger), the actual value of having trusted long-time trading partners is high in the crypto world.

Anonymous one-on-one transactions rely only on trust.

Find a Bitcoin seller in your city

To make it convenient, it is preferable to find a buyer / seller living in your city. Then you can arrange a personal meeting and discuss the terms of the transaction in person. However, the most important thing is to make the whole transaction as safe as possible. You can go to a cafe with Wi-Fi and make a transaction there. For example:

1. Money is sent to you for pre-paid Bitcoins;

2. You are waiting for the transfer;

3. After that, send the coins from your wallet to the merchant's address;

4. He waits for the booking and confirms the completion of the operation.

You can ask for cash payment if you want, if you don't want to leave a trace of funds transferred to the card. This is done best when the quantity is very large. If not, don't worry.

The system will consider it a banal transfer of money from user to user. If you can't find a buyer or seller in your city, it's best to use a different method. When looking on forums, you may find a scammer. Additionally, nothing prevents the other party to the transaction from disappearing after you made the transfer. In general, remote direct payments will have to be performed at your own risk; there is no other way.
